Campaign Objectives
We wanted to strengthen Samba Scientific’s own digital presence by improving visibility in both traditional search engines and AI-powered answer engines (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews). Goals included appearing as a cited source in AI-generated answers, improving organic rankings for key life science marketing queries, and ensuring that our website structure supported both human readers and large language models.
Samba Approach
Added an llms.txt file to sambasci.com to make site content easily scrapable by large language models.
Implemented answer-first content structure across key pages, leading with direct, concise answers to target queries before elaborating, making content optimized for AI snippet extraction and featured snippets.
Added FAQ sections to all service pages targeting high-intent questions that buyers actually ask AI tools and search engines.
Audited and updated H1s site-wide to better reflect target queries, improve topical clarity for crawlers, and align with how prospects search for life science marketing services.
Launched an ongoing content update program to continuously refresh and expand existing pages with current, authoritative information that earns AI citations.
Outcomes
Within 4 months of implementation, Samba Scientific saw consistent gains across every core AI visibility metric. The overall visibility score climbed 20%, from 15 to 18 out of 100, reaching its highest point in the tracking period. Homepage citations grew from 4 prompts to 24, a 6x increase driven by stronger brand-level authority signals across agency and category lookup queries. In the top tracked topic, Life Sciences and Biotech Marketing, monthly mentions grew to 18, the highest single-topic count recorded. A new topic, Biotech and Life Science Public Relations, broke into performing topics for the first time, reflecting the early impact of the content expansion work. Throughout the period, Samba maintained 88–98% favorable sentiment, the highest in the competitive set, and reached 34% share of voice in February, more than five times its nearest competitor at the time.
Next Steps
Samba continues to refine our AEO and GEO strategy as AI search evolves, treating our own website as a living test environment for the tactics that we recommend to our clients. Upcoming priorities include rewriting answer-first opening paragraphs across top cited pages, as well as building out topic authority in life science marketing and biotech PR. Every initiative is part of staying ahead of how buyers in life science and biotech find and evaluate vendors as AI-powered search becomes the default.
