Geno.Me is making clinical-grade genetic and health information accessible to researchers through a program of voluntary contributors – contributors control their own data and receive payment for what they share, while researchers have unprecedented access to crowd-sourced data on a large scale.

Campaign Objectives

Geno.Me was looking to significantly boost brand awareness & drive individual health data contributions on a shoestring budget. Having created the first searchable ecosystem of linked medical & genetic data, they needed to describe the opportunity to a non-technical audience, while offering an easy way for prospects to sign up and get paid for their contributions.

Samba Approach

Samba Scientific created a Facebook Advertising campaign to generate new contributors for Geno.Me’s data-sharing program. We collaborated to create unique audiences, targeting users based on age, location, and relevant interests. We tested messaging focused on different value propositions, and directed users to a custom infographic that clarified their offering.

Campaign Results

In 3 months, from late September to late December of 2023, Geno.Me’s Facebook Ads campaign generated nearly 1 million impressions, over 15,000 clicks & over 12,000 new website visitors. In the 3 month period that our campaign was active, Geno.Me received 995 contributors for their program. Additionally, the ads saw remarkable engagement rates for the Facebook platform: we recorded a 1.54% click-through-rate (CTR) at a cost-per-click (CPC) of just $0.30. This was especially promising considering the industry-standard metrics in healthcare-related advertising on Facebook – a 0.73% CTR and $0.75 CPC, on average.
